Janet

I can’t tell you how happy I am that “Gramps is back!” I had cancelled our newspaper subscription because I no longer needed Dave Barry because I had Gramps to keep me laughing. I was beginning to go through withdrawals when I checked our family blog and “Gramps is back!!” I have to admit, I am just as confused about lacrosse as he is and I grill Mike about the rules after every game. “Why did our player just stand and look down at the ball without picking it up?” … “The ball was in the crease and he didn’t realize he could touch it.” … “The crease! What’s the crease?” … If you ever want to watch Scott in action, here is his website listing his games:

A little update on my week: I had been subpoenaed to testify in the George and Deborah Wallace trial. You may remember my old boss who wrote over 254 insufficient funds checks and moved to Hawaii with no money! Well, it all finally caught up with them and both have been charged with felonies. After a long stressful day of waiting in the hallway on Monday, I was finally called in to testify. I was the final witness before the prosecution closed and according to my husband, I “kicked butt.” There were a couple of times Mike had to restrain himself from yelling out “Yeah baby, that’s my wife!” Apparently, I shut down the defense attorney when she was trying to rattle me and Mike watched as the D.A. just sat back and smiled. I, however, was in a completely different realm. It was almost an out of body experience, so stressful. But I do remember getting quite irritated when the defense attorney, three times, tried to get me to testify that Debbie only owed me for 10 hours worth of work. I corrected her math and she quickly looked down and said that I was right. By the time she tried to get me to say that I witnessed the Wallace’s “shuffling funds” I said, “No. There were no funds to shuffle.” She then quickly said she had no more questions for me.

The verdict came back guilty for Debbie and then George plea bargained for lesser felonies. Their sentencing will be in 4-6 weeks. I would love to be there for that. After my performance, Mike is ready to sue Pete (my ex-business partner) and promises never to divorce me because I would get it all! So, Joe, get ready. We may be your first case. (Just kidding, I am not the suing type, although Pete deserves it, and I never want to step foot in a courtroom again.)

Paul and Missy, you have the cutest kids. I am anxious to see them both in person. Come visit!! We even have spare bedrooms! That goes for all my family. We love visitors!!

Thanks again, Dad, for the laugh. You need to be published. (There are a lot of people out there who could use a good laugh.)

I love you all!!

Janet
