Time to Keep in Touch!!

Well, here it is! For all of us who didn't know that Jude had been born, that Mom and Dad Campbell had moved or one of the many other things that has happened in the family but you were left out of the loop--this is for you! We can all access it, update it and stay informed on the "goings-on" of the family of Nana and Gramps Bingham. Hopefully we won't all feel so lost or uninformed! I love you all and have fun blogging!!!

Fun, fun, fun!! Thanks to whomever. Andrea I think. Cute baby - we are thrilled. I announced him today in RS. Glad to have Janet 7 Mike home safe and Michelle so happy in her new digs. It snowed hard this morning and more on the way but we are toasty warm and happy. Love to all, Nana B.

A THOUGHT FROM GRAMPS

Someone left a box of very tasty treats and a note by our front door, rang the bell and vanished before, rocket-like, I propelled myself out of my leather recliner and across the room to fling open the door. Let me re-phrase that. The chair didn’t give me up easily. These days, my bones and muscles, acting together, are less related to rockets and more inclined toward rockers. My elapsed time from chair to door would not have been measured with a stopwatch, but with a calendar. The kindly gift giver could have escaped undetected if he/she had suffered a fractured tibia and been escorted away by ambulance without being seen by me when I opened the door.
The box of Ferro Roche goodies were delicious but not nearly as sweet as the accompanying note, unsigned. It described Nana B in terms of love and admiration and of gratitude for her excellent example as a role model for the young people of our church, specifically of our Cedar Hills 7th Ward youth. Our only clue to the identity of the gift giver was a reference to the fact that I had taught her/him in a Sunday School class “a few years ago, for a few months.” I taught only one such class here, one consisting of four girls and four boys.
The language in the note betrayed a high level of intelligence, the sentiments a strong commitment to goodness and integrity. We really didn’t want to explore further the “who” of the note, since he/she left it unsigned, probably not wanting to draw attention to her/him, but to focus on Nana B. It came at a time when Joan (Nana) was feeling a little (no, a lot) down during the past week. Other people, with words written and spoken, gave similar testimony, making a bad week into a very good one. She needed that. So, she’s back! Same ol’ Nana you’ve always known, but out from under a small gray cloud of self doubt, that had her second-guessing for a while.
The two of us, satisfied with the possession of just one brain and half a memory between us, send our love to each and every member of the family. Have a great 2008!!
